THE view across Kent from the Devil’s Kneading Trough near Wye is one of the 50 best views in England, according to the chairman of the National Trust.
Simon Jenkins has written a book detailing the best views in the country and the view across the Ashford countryside from the North Downs is mentioned as one of the south’s top vistas.
The book details 100 views but Mr Jenkins edited the selection down to 50 for a special supplement in The Guardian at the weekend. Only four views from “the south” were chosen and the view from the Devil’s Kneading Trough is the only one in Kent.
